Day 6 - We Are On The Move
We are finally on the move again. We pulled out of our slip at 7:40. Once out of the inlet we hit rollers, but there was no chop to speak of. We passed Atlantic City, Cape May and headed toward the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal also call the C & D Canal. Delaware Bay was flat css as can be. We did encounter a lot of floating debris due to the high storm surge. There were a lot of submerged branches and logs. As we made the turn for the C & D we hit something. We seem to be fine so we hope we hit the side of the boat and not a shaft or prop. We stopped in the C & D to fuel up and spend the night. We stopped at Schaefers for fuel and decided to spend the night here. We are under a bridge so we can hear the traffic overhead. Dockage was $2/foot and Diesel Fuel was $3.05/gallon. We traveled 156 miles and took on 288 gallons of diesel fuel. We traveled 7 hours. It was a long day but we wanted to make up some mileage. Tomorrow we plan to at least go by Fort McHenry and then down to the Solomon Islands. I am told that will only be about 68 miles. Hopefully we can find some decent wifi. Our scooter parts are on their way from China! Now if we could only figure out what is wrong with the TV Antenna and why I don’t have any water pressure in the galley sink. Tonight will be an early night. We are exhausted. More updates tomorrow.
