Day 14 - Charleston, NC

Today we awoke to no power on the dock. We thought it was our tower so Doug switched the plugs around only to find out the entire marina was down. It came back on fairly quickly. After that Doug washed the boat. I made breakfast on the boat. We decided to dump our trash and walk the main dock to see some of the larger yachts. This marina is quite large and we ended up walking a mile and a half. We tend to run with several of the same boats and we see each other at each stop. One particular boat is from Newport. A very gorgeous classic wooden yacht. I will post pictures.
I worked on blog posts most of the morning. Then Doug and I sat on the back of the boat enjoying the warm Charleston weather for a while. Kim joined us and we sat and reminisced about our time in Maine. Miles joined us and we went for a drive into the battery. We saw Rainbow row which is a row of townhouses all painted bright colors. We walked to the pineapple fountain and took our touristy pictures. We walked to the pier and saw the Ravenel Bridge and the various forts off in the distance.
We had reservations to go to a Brazilian Steakhouse. What a treat and experience. If you are a meat lover this is the place to go. We sat and ordered a delicious strawberry cocktail. It was very sweet but delicious. Then we went to the salad bar. I never thought I would ever see a salad bar again after Covid. The selections were amazing. There were several kinds of cheeses, prosciutto, salmon, asparagus, fresh mozzarella, various veggies, soups, etc. You can return to the salad bar as many times as you want. One trip was enough! I was saving myself for the meat. You each have a card that is red on one side and green on the other. When you are ready for you meat you flip your card to green. Within seconds you have waiters that come by with large pieces of meat and they will cut a piece for you. You have tongs to remove the meat and place it on your plate. We had filet wrapped in bacon, ribeye, sirloin, shrimp, salmon, spiced beef, pork sausage, chicken, pork ribs, lamb, and lamb chops. It was amazing We were so stuffed. It was so much fun

We said goodbye to our friends and came back to the boat to prep for our early departure in the morning. Our plan is to take the offshore route and head to Florida. The seas should be two foot seas with a span of seven seconds. We will travel about 150 miles straight to Florida and bypass the shallow route on the ICW
